I'm on a polaroid safari at the moment...
Kora wears her Heart on her sleeve...for real
My muses' for the evening....
Koras' purdy' feet.....I kinda have a thing for cute feet
Good ol' Mr. Ron Turner ladies and gentlemen...I have such a funny story I'll have to share at another moment and time how I first met this guy years ago.
Anyhow, all and all it was a fun nite at my old stomping ground 111 Minna Gallery in SF. Crazy t-shirt hosted by some local magazine called Planet. So many friends showed up last nite I havn't seen in awhile and a lot of people asking if I still ran the joint with Eiming the owner and I would reply with the same answer "uhhhh...no, it's been 5yrs or so since I left the place" and they would reply 'when ya gonna come back?", and I would have to say "never". With a smile....."just visiting"
But I'd have to say I miss the mayhem that I was once a part of. And to see that it's still around and thriving in such a big way makes me grin ear to ear. I never would have thought that me and Eimigs' little idea of having a gallery and bar would become such an icon of San Francisco 11+ years ago. Back then we were the only gallery like that, and pretty much the only one downtown in that area at the time; hehehe! we got away with alot of crazy shit back then tooo, we didn't know what the hell we were doin' at that time. It took alot out me to keep that place runnin'. We had no money, but just love and the support of the art community back then. Plus alot of drinkin' art appreciators ' which helped me to currate shows for super talented friends and pay for my woes of trying to keep the place afloat.
Now it's expanded and on the map, and I'm extremeley honored its' still around. I can't tell you the the amount of amazing people and friends I've met over the years working there back in the day. They have become my immediate family at times. Eiming's even hosted thanksgiving and christmas dinners at the gallery for anyone who's ever been apart of the space or used the alley as a place to rest their tired homeless head at nite or even indoors for that matter, as a way to show gratitude. And that's just it.
Gratitude....a very important word in my life.
Have an amazing fantastical weekend y'all I'm going canoein'......ya know...nature stuff.
Update:
Listening to The Willowz, someone just turned me onto them and the fuckin' rock my socks off!!
And my friend is really bored at the moment, but it'll make ya laugh either way.
