i went to see dragonforce last night...for free!! it was amayzing, and i have the bruises to prove it!! me and my friend emily who lives in manchester headed on down to the astoria in soho, stopped off at sainsburys to get some cheap booze and steal a bottle opener and met sam outside the venue a few minutes later, then, he booked us into the venue which meant we has ACCESS ALL AREA passes, pretty damn cool i think... so me sam and emily go up to the bar area and crack open the booze, despite the fact that it was only about 3pm. the rest of the guys joined us, apart from ZP who was all pissed off because his cough medecine had spilt all over his bag...bless. he looks so purdy when he's pissed off. so after mixing various drinks together to see what magickal concoctions we got we headed off to their dressing room, and well, carried on drinking!! normally this would be super cool, loads of free booze, but since i moved down to london i have so much that i have become tolerant to alcohol and however hard i try, however much i drink i CAN'T get drunk!! so still feeling pretty much sober we hung out with the guys until we had to go and grab our places at the front of the pit.
regranade playboys were the support band, and they we're pretty damn good, even though the guitarist was a fucking arrogant bastard. they were all dressed like they stepped out of the eighties, you can imagine to look on my face when i saw them, i was in heaven. then along came the main attraction...sam, i mean er...dragonforce!! they played [in no particular order] starfire, a personal favourite, valley of the damned, soldiers of the wasteland, fury of the storm, my spirit will go on, dawn over a new world, prepare for war and black winter night, there probably were more but i can't remember everything!!
sadly though, i couldn't go out with sam afterwards because the record company had got all the magazines to review the show that night and they had to steal the band away for interviews at some poncy restaurant..bastards. but it all turned out well in the end, me and emily went for a few beers with johan the merch. man and then ended up staying at his house because we couldn't find the bus home!! he bought us red roses too...such a niue guy, you should check out his site ---> www.rockersdigest.com.
unfortunately i lost something VERY important that night, but it was entirely my fault, when we were sitting in the bar before the show i had my phone on the table, and when we went to the dressing room what did i do?? i left it on the table didn't i?? completely forgot about it until i was stood in the middle of the pit getting crushed shouting "Shit!! where's my phone?!" so after the show we go a hunting for it around the venue, the guys checked the dressing room for me, it was nowhere in sight!! i couldn't ring it either becaus the astoria is an underground venue sort of so there was no reception, everytime i ring it now all i get it the t-mobile answering service, which can only mean one thing...it's still in the astoria. if it had been taken, it would either be turned off or it would ring, so it must be there still. i called up the astoria this morning to find out if they had found any phones and they told me that i should call back at half 6 when the lost property opens, so i call back at half 6 and no one answers the phone, i was ring every now and again up until 11 and not once did anyone answer the fucking phone!! so annoying...so now i am slightly pissed off, i feel naked without my phone, i've got nothing to hold...
