Well fortune favors the foolish.

I have finally found employment after such a long dry spell. And it is in a field I actually wanted to work in - security. So no thanks to the current Ohio government that wants to put everyone out of work and in the poor house, I have prevailed amidst squalor and dishevel.

Now, if only I could find a...

I am glad to have replied. It was happenstance that I saw your blog, so serendipity led me to answer. I suppose there is some relish in that . . . but what happy steps brought me here lead me on. I hope your project goes well.

Why is 3D suddenly every film that is coming out? There is a portion of the populace that can't watch 3D films, and now, unlike before, they aren't releasing 2D versions of some of these films. That means I won't be able to see some of them. Way to alienate part of your demographic Hollywood. Way to go.

Those conversion jobs are ruining genuine 3-D (which I always used to love) for the rest of us. We made a point of seeing CLASH OF THE TITANS, DAWN TREADER and GREEN HORNET flat because that's the way they were FILMED... but I had no choice but to see the godawful MY SOUL TO TAKE in phony, pointless converted 3-D, which made it a lot worse.

On the other hand, GENUINE 3-D was the only thing that saved THE FINAL DESTINATION, and it was used very well in MY BLOODY VALENTINE. I understand the new Nicolas Cage movie DRIVE ANGRY is the real thing, as well, so I might pop out for that one...

I have the impression that 3D is being used mostly as an anti-piracy tactic.

I have, to some extent, become accustomed to seeing nude women.

But there are times I am very much reminded of my singleness. The simple scents of the world, combined with those images I am presented with rile me, and my frustration is renewed. Even the common smell of talcum powder tingles me with sexual fire.

There are times when I log on here, and...

It's 3:50 am, and I am ambivalent.

Had two interviews for work last week, which I hope pays off. After two years of being unemployed and pulling every trick I know out of the book to make ends meet, I need something to get me back on my feet. I had been making a tidy sum as a musician, but with the break-up of the...

While I am sorry to hear that you are ambivalent, I am happy to see such an inspirational post. I agree completely about choices. And holding our heads high. I also believe that the only REAL failure is giving up. Not surrendering, for we must all surrender to stronger forces sometimes. But the abandonment of hope, of faith in ourselves. That is the only real failure, in my opinion.

I am glad to read that poem today. Thank you.

And GOOD LUCK!!! Fingers and toes crossed for good news on the job front.

Thanks Lilli! Got another notice for a job interview today too, so things are picking up a bit.

I am appalled that there are those now using the tragedy of the Arizona shootings as a hammer with which to pummel their opponents and attempt to convince you that their side is right, and the other wrong.

The only thing wrong here is that there are families shattered and friends bereft, mothers and fathers whose hearts have been eviscerated, and a nation shaking its...

I've been somewhat detached as of late. Haven't had straight thoughts to compose anything. Maybe it's just the season, maybe it's me. I don't know. Life has been very hard, hadn't had a job in a long time, and money is running out. I had to borrow $10 from a friend just so I could put a few gallons of gas in the car so...

Let's help the American economy! A brand new paperback book costs $7.99 nowadays. Not too bad. Most publishers still make the entire book in the USA, using good old fashioned American citizens to do so. Find a genre you enjoy, or give the gift of reading to somebody you know who would appreciate it, and buy one extra book this month. If 1 million people...

I am absolutely incensed a jewelry commercial trying to provoke warm happy thoughts of love and family are using "How do you measure a year" from Rent as the commercial music. Do they know what that song is about?? Do they know what that play is about??? Fucking assholes.mad

Christine O'Donnell, in a debate with her opponent Coons at a Law School, publicly declared she wasn't aware that the First Amendment of the Constitution made provisions that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof", when she responded to her opponent, "That's in the Constitution?"

This is who wants to be a US Senator?? Are you...

This is not a blog for or against any political candidate. This is simply human decency.

I read today and saw the video of a man stomping on the head of another human being at a political debate in Kentucky. At that moment, all the similar actions of the past 234 years, those borne of hatred, of intolerance, of prejudice, came screaming in, and I...
