Great day! I went with another KUCI DJ to The 2005 Hootenanny in oak canyon ranch! This was my 6th or 7th time going ( on and off since '96) We got in free, as we were setting up a booth to promote the station. I made some show fliers to pass out ahead of time too! They look great. I'll have to scan them and post em here sometime.
Our booth was right next to a vintage style clothing company's booth and the owner kept pouring me rum and cokes (malibu rum). Right across from ours was the booth for a pinup magazine called "Cake" who boasted about having the most beautiful girls in the world. There were about two or three of 'em there all day, one rather top heavy one who kept popping out of her tiny rockabilly bikini top.
.
It was so much fun people watching and meeting fans of the station as well as band members/label owners who kept giving us free cds! I've never had a reason to talk to those cute rockabilly girls before, so promoting my show was the perfect way of striking up a conversation. My God, the beautiful girls I saw today! Where do they all dissappear to for the rest of the year?
I also met the lead singer of Civet (great all woman punk band) who I play pretty often. So cute and nice! And I ran into the older lady I had a huge crush on while I was going through High school. She's a nanny for Lee Rocker but worked at a rockabilly clothing place i used to visit after school just to talk with her. AHHHHHHH!!!! Rockabilly girls!!!!! SO FUCKING HOT!!!!!
Send 'em my way!!!!
By the way, during all this I was watching live performances by Link Wray, The Nekromantics, Throw Rag, Cadillac Tramps, Social Distortion (twice), and Deke Dickerson amongst other groups.
This might be my last update for a little over a week, as I will be in Costa Rica for a week starting Wed. You better leave me lots of messages while I'm gone...and hot pics of rockabilly girls!!!!
Tune into Trashomatic tomorrow! (10PM-Midnight on www.KUCI.org) I'll be having a live performance by Slim Higgins and Mr. Juvenile Hall. A wild, fun garage rock two-piece from L.A. One of my favorite local bands!

Yup, I'm an old broad now. Guess it's a good thing you're into old lady grease monkeys.
I'll start saving my pennies, soon as I'm done with school I plan on visiting Cali seeing if I can get a gig.
Have fun in Costa Rica, bring me something back tacky.
