cleansing pt III.
thanks for all the ideas!
im really wanting to make all this my diet for the rest of my life, instead of binging and cleansing, rinse and repeat...i won't have to take as many extreme cleansing supplements if i dont have anything to clean out in the first place right? it's hard to avoid though.
also i'm going to start drinking too, socially. I've heard if you take activated charcoal before you drink(thanks Debra!), then it counteracts the adverse effects by a lot. and if you are eating good foods before and after you drink, theres virtually NO hangover.
update: the garlic has been AWESOME! not only has it gotten my blood flowing and giving me more energy and drive(!!!), but it's gotten rid of my athlete's foot entirely where creams and spray never worked. the ginkgo, i'm still taking it but i think the garlic does a lot more for my circulation so i don't think i'll get another bottle after im done with this one. so i stink like garlic now, so what? if you don't like it, leave. still taking spirulina, eating broccoli, etc.
Also, a brand new supplement I'm trying that i read about is 5-HTP. It's supposed to facilitate the mechanisms that create serotonin in your body, so that when you do release serotonin(from sleep, food, exercise, etc), you release more. It also is supposed to help regulate mood and sleep. I'll let you know how it works, but I'm pretty confident from all the tests that have been done on this supplement. Apparently also, it has no side effects because you're just supplementing/boosting an amino acid that is already present in your body. If you give your body too much it won't even use it, but if there's not enough it will be there if your body can't create it. With people who binge, or drink, or overeat, or do ANYTHING impulsive, the shortage of 5 HTP is pretty common, so it's likely that most people would do well supplementing it. The prescribed usage for it is to treat depression, insomnia and to facilitate weight loss. You can get it anywhere that has a vitamin section, I got mine from Fred Meyer's. We'll see how it works for me though. More later!
