This guy is a dick:
This is the guy who thought up Captivity, a new movie critics are putting in the category of 'Torture Porn'... It's not porn really, but porn as a synonym for....well...getting gratification out of sexualized violence. Basically the movie is supposed to show one hot girl (Elisha Cuthbert) getting tortured. Don't get me wrong I love things that are 'pushing the PC boundaries' as they describe it but really, sexualizing violence 1) has been around forever and is getting old and 2) not cool to me.
Adding to this, this guy is going to have the first screening be in New York for Women's Groups. Basically a big deliberate fuck you to Women's Rights Groups. What is this guy's deal? I guess to be edgy and non-PC is to take a step back in Civil Rights.
And so then I hear that they are having some big party in Hollywood(isn't that where all the sewage drains to?) that is supposed to 'push the boundaries of what is PC and they are going to do an undisclosed something that's just SO SICK AND WRONG that how could you miss it?!!? And...they are going to use Suicide Girls to walk around with torture devices and 'grab' people, whatever that means, and that they will be auctioning off 3 Suicide Girls to go home with some 'lucky fans', and the whole thing will be put on the internet. Ew. I feel this site's mission is completely counter to this. It almost makes me feel dirty for being associated with the SG name. I do NOT support this shit in any way. Sex, violence (and their offspring, rape) have always been 2 very different things to me, and I intend to keep them that way.
Yuck.
THIS, on the other hand, is the best thing ever:

So glad to see I'm not alone. I love horror, but I have never watched Saw, Wolf Creek or Hostel because I think the premise of those films (the whole torture porn thing) is just sick. The fact that this guy is stepping up the misogyny in this movie is just worse still, and then to rub it in the face of women's groups. WTF! Why would anyone on here want to support that shit? Well said Cymagen.
