So I completely forgot to post these pics at the bottom, but my god am I glad I remembered them now.
So backstory... on New Year’s Day my son and I went to the local comic book store so that he could use his Christmas money from his nana (my mom). She gave him $60, and know that he’s a huge nerd (particularly for Marvel, Pokémon, Ultraman, and Godzilla.) she gave him specific instructions to have me take him wherever he wanted to get whatever he wanted with his money.
So naturally his first suggestion is a place called comics 2 games. They have an unbelievable selection of all kinds of nerd lore goodies... so he got a couple of rare Pokémon cards, and I got a Boba Fett black series figure and a Boba Fett Funko pop.
We paid for our items, and then as we were on our way out the door to the car I see a man in a very movie accurate Deadpool Cosplay and was immediately ecstatic. I asked if we could take some pics to which he said absolutely. We took pics, we laughed, we joked, and then we went our separate ways.
I thought that would be the end of it until my son and I went to the mall to allow him to spend the rest of the money. We went to a retro game store that had more Pokémon cards, and he spent his last $20-something on a few card packs.
As we walked out of that store... low and behold there’s Deadpool again. We were walking in his direction and I shouted “well, who’s stalking who?” And he replied in a perfect Deadpool response. “Well to be honest I’m not sure, but I like it!!!!”
it was so great, we took some more pics with him, joked around and laughed. That is until 2 security guards closed in and told him that he needed to leave the mall cuz people were scared and intimidated by his toy guns and not sure what he was up to since he was wearing a full mask.
Such a buzzkill, I guess it’s a good thing that they couldn’t tell that I actually did have a real pistol on me. Worry not, I have a CCDW. Not some crazy guy.
but as he was about to bounce we did a bro huh, a fist bump, and exchanged pleasantries. To this day I have no idea who the guy really is under the mask, but at this point it don’t matter. He was a very cool dude, and very funny just like Deadpool. Anyway, I had to share. Hope you found a little humor in this. Take it easy everyone!!!
