I've been visually & emotionally impaired for the last few days. I'm very thankful for the allergy medication, Zyrtec, that is now available without a prescription. Since Saturday my eyes have been pouring tears, itchy & sticky, along with an itchy, drippy nose. My eyes are red & swollen & raw. It got so bad yesterday my eyes were filled with that milky/gooey substance, and I could hardly see. My eyes have NEVER been this bad & I have no idea what in the world is in the air right now but I DON'T LIKE IT!!! I was sooooooooooooo ill for 2 days from this and other stuff that irritated me and got me upset. Crying didn't make it any better & being sleep deprived didn't help either. It was just a bad idea for me to be around anyone. For anyone who encountered me being a total ass, I apologize.
So, I did make it to the store yesterday & found the Zyrtec...it took a while to kick in, but my eyes were in such bad condition I figured it would take a while for them to start healing. Zyrtec is great because it's just one pill in 24 hours, and it's extended release. I felt drunk & loopy after taking it, since I already had a bit of benadryl in my system. I had a conversation with my sis last night that I don't even remember. She'll prolly tell me about goofy stuff I said. Feeling a bit better now other than being drained from all of the drowsy medicine I've taken the last few days, being jittery from all of the antihistamines in me, & that my eyes are really sore. A little Aveeno lotion & vitamin E oil is helping with that though.
*EDIT: I just looked up pollen/allergy levels in the weather, and tree pollen has been steady rising since the weekend, especially pine, and there is a buttload of those behind my apt. The current amount is listed as "HIGH". Well, that explains it!
Pic I came across the other day...I couldn't resist making a lolkat!
