I had a good night...
My dinner was delicious. We had the poutine of the day: short ribs, gravy, peppers and onions, white cheese curds, and tater tots.
I had a tuna nicoise sandwich [not pictured]. I had 4 beers, my typical limit is 2 since I prefer not to drink. I had 2 German hefeweizen beers with banana and clove notes. Finished dinner with a porter that was caramel, chocolate, and coffee noted.
I planned on going home but it was only 8. At the last minute I decided I had a fair buzz and wanted another drink. I stopped at a bar I have frequented in the past. That's when I had my 4th beer. A blonde ale that had lemon notes.
I nursed it for about an hour. In the meantime I did some hilarious people watching. Drunk Irishmen, from Ireland, speaking with their accents. Talking about their nagging wives and having drinks. The typical adorable couple awkwardly swaying with each other between games of darts. A drunk woman who insisted on playing music despite that everyone wanted to watch the Cubs game. Terrible, terrible music. Then the hipsters came in. Ordering tall cans of PBR. One had a Rubicks Cube he insisted on keeping on the bar, like a trophy, how accomplished he must have felt solving the puzzle.
There I sat, alone in the bar, feet propped up on a chair, eyes glued to my phone. Texting friends, perusing SG, silently people watching. I got a few passing glances but nothing more. Everyone was too wrapped up in their inebriated festivities to notice the redhead in the Millennium Falcon shirt sitting at the corner of the bar. Their loss. I enjoyed sitting there watching everyone.
I came home and changed into comfy clothes. Here I sit, during a thunderstorm. This is my storm face. I don't mind them but loud thunder scares me.
I'm buzzed and sort of sleepy. Watching cartoons. I'd say I had a nice day today.
