Someone once asked me what all my tattoos meant, and I did a terrible job explaining them, because I am not great with words and I am shy. So, for anyone who cares, here you go...
This was my first tattoo, I was 19. Album artwork from the Smashing Pumpkins Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness CD. That album had a ton of influence on my life, it got me through some rough times, times when I was suicidal and wanted to die. To this day it is my favorite album ever.
The NIN logo from The Downward Spiral, of course because they are my favorite band and that was the first NIN CD I ever owned.
More album artwork from Melon Collie. This one I don't care too much for, it's an exact copy of the artwork, but the experience was awful. The artist was an asshole and my tattoo is scarred from him digging in when he asked if it hurt and I said no.
I've always been intrigued by space, other planets, my own existence, the vast emptiness and infinity of it all. This is not a good picture, plus the tattoo itself is faded from the sun.
This one I ended up combining, first was the cross and wing, in memory of my grandpa. He wasn't a religious man and neither am I. For me the cross doesn't represent God, it's moreso because his soul is at rest now. I miss him everyday. The stars are just stars, another bad experience, the artist was a dickhead. The swirls came later to try to make it look a little more seamless.
In memory of my baby rattie, she was the first rat I owned. I adopted her from tech school after training her. She was so smart and so sweet. Every night she would grab each of my fingers in her tiny front paws and kiss them. Every finger. Even when the cancer was making her lose weight and she didn't have the spirit anymore, she still kissed each finger.
Mexican sugar skull, partly because I love El Dia de los Muertos, celebrating a lost loved one's life instead of mourning it. Also in part of my Mexican heritage. Yes, I am part Mexican, believe it or not.
This peacock, my grandma drew it on black paper with chalk. She was so artistic. I got it in memory of her. I love my grandma very much.
My little owl, I love fall and what bird is more fall-like than an owl?
Cherry blossom tree. This one doesn't have a ton of meaning, honestly. I bartered for it. I got my artist concert tickets, he said he'd give me a big tattoo. I said I wanted some girly flowers.
Lastly, Boba Fett. I mean, need I say more? It's fucking Boba Fett, the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. My favorite Star Wars character.
There they are. I hope you like 😊
