So, Duke's labwork came back. All normal except some protein in his urine [not totally uncommon]. We did x-rays to check for masses, nothing. Only findings are his horrible spine, which I've known about for a few years. It has progressively gotten worse. The other finding is 'old dog lungs', where they look cloudy but have no real medical significance. So now we send out urine again for a culture to check for bacterial growth, doctor thinks maybe a low grade UTI. If that comes back normal, then it could just be an old age change for him.
As a tech, I would almost like to find something wrong, so I can treat it as opposed to not knowing definitively and monitoring his symptoms.

I circled the parts of his spine where it is fused together, that's where all his pain comes from and why he's on meds.
