So, I'll be going to St. Louis in a couple of weeks to see Deadboy & The Elephantmen with Fiery Furnaces on 2/24.
Should be fun. Another one of my trips across state for a concert. I always hate going some place I'm not familiar with for shows, I get all sorts of nervous and uptight. Outside of Lawrence, Springfield is the farthest I've driven for a show, and that one went smoothly, so let's hope this trip to St. Louis behaves the same, unlike my last visit to the Gateway City (see; STL trip 8/05).
DB&E have great timing, which was pointed out to me by Randi at work today when I turned in my time off request; I'll be in St. Louis for Mardi Gras SO, that means wicked photo opportunities and the chance to drink beer and behave badly in public. The "Grande Parade" is on the 25th, downtown, which is where I'm going to be anyways. Another added perk is, of course, The Old Spaghetti factory.
Cathy and Brad know my complete and total obsession with this restaurant. I don't know why god hates me so much as to keep the closest of these fantastic eateries 4 some odd hours away from me! When we flew into Denver on our layover to San Jose, I discovered we were merely blocks from an OSF, and it brought me to tears when I realized we wouldn't have time to enjoy Denver's branch of my favorite restaurant. I did, however, take several hour long CalTrain rides to San Jose for their OSF during my visit to Redwood City. I need to petition to get an OSF back in Kansas City - there was one downtown years ago before I ever had the good fortune to treat my taste buds to such delicious (AND CHEAP!) Italian foodstuffs.
I think I should make a trip out to STL just for dinner this weekend, hahahaha. Mmm...
