So I sort of fell in love last night, a little bit. HD and I went out with some of our nicer students to celebrate their degree results. And there was one student who was in my class this year and I'd been impressed by her presence (and I'm not talking about her attendance, y'know?). There's a kind of solidity to her body and a frankness to her features that is disconcerting and arresting. And I'm not looking for euphemisms to say she's fat and ugly, far from it.
Turn's out she's a dancer and an aerobics instructor, which explains her remarkable posture and poise. And she has an incredible penetrating gaze that makes you want to look away, and then look back again...
She compliments me on my red T-shirt, I compliment her on her silver trainers. She asks me if I'm married. I tell her I'm a long way from being married. She tells me she is too. We gaze into each other's eyes. By the end of the evening, she's whispering asides to me conspiratorially, so the rest of the group can't hear. We gaze into each other's eyes.
Oh dear...
