Well... it's finally november and time for me to turn another year older. Got a new car... woo hoo... now i finally have power windows and locks for the first time. Good stuff... and luckily the new "smokey grey" color will not interfere with my suicide girls sticker. I know i've been a little inactive lately but i do send my love to you all....

Working for the aids walk... awesome job to have even if it is in an office the people rock and I can wear dancer pants to work. Pretty much a glorified intern but hey... it's fun and i get to be with one of my best friends all day long. Had a performance last week at Barnesdale art park a CalArts alum. show... it was...

Car theft sucks, especially if they take your computer, too! I hope you didn't lose any important stuff.

What could be better than dressing up for halloween as one of the members of Kiss? Mid-1970's make-up and all. Ok, maybe a lot of things would be better. But that would be cool.

the school girl look is past it's time, angel and devil wings are ho-hum. psuedo-b/s/m is pretty lame. preganant nuns ...not a chance.

can never go wrong with a super hero - cat woman (with whip), wonder woman (with lasso), chix with whips make me warm 'down there'.
bloody brides are always popular and ever so tasteful.
politics are tricky -- carrying a chopped-in-half cigar and an ice tray and claiming to be hillary clinton is a 'oh I get it' kinda gag.

a nod to vintage cinema and tv always works .. the hobo look on judy garland, mary ann from gilligans island, and even tho I dream of genie is a lame costume - I promise you'll get beaucoup attention.

hiding behind masks and making ppl guess who you are NEVER works. I just walk away and won't play that game, sorry.

I always liked 'concept costumes' .. like stuffing yer bra and wearing a green top and be 'green with envy' ... or some such jive... "I am sky", "I am a thunderstorm", "I am summer solstice" ...those can be charming as well.

As i sit... early morning... late night... thinking of my next step... tomorrow 3 hour rehearsal for unpaid very artistic performance... monday 3 interviews for jobs at the mall... interesting how this moment feels similar to the moments 4 1/2 years ago before deciding to go back to school... only that time it was school, or a cruise ship... I love my art, i love...

As a dancer, you could work with the women on tour and hone their skills. Or do choreography. Maybe belly-dancing (not what you went to school for, but they seem to be around for hire nowadays)? I don't know, because you are in a tough field. Are you a member of DanceUSA? Maybe they have job listings and auditions in your area. Good luck!
shaggyford:
Check back with VEE corp every once in a while. the tours have started and they are starting to weed out the ones that cant handle being on the road. I know we have one here that is on the way out. She sat out opening night cause her neck hurt....

Well... for the next week i'll be in a house with three boys or more ( one of which is my boy) .... What am i getting at... well, i never usually complain about the whole toilet seat thing - i could give a...

Well, you're probably already in Vegas, so I hope you're having a good time. Do you know the Ben Munisteri Dance Projects? I have a chance to see him and his dancers this weekend at Jacob's Pillow, but only if I rearrange other things I want to do. Are they worth the trip?
alansmithee55:
imho, any trip to Jacob's Pillow is worth it.

Founded by Ted Shawn of denishawn as I recall....
