R.I.P. TIny...
Well, I was typing a post explaining how my hamster, Tiny, was acting very strange and I was really worried. But, as I was typing and trying to find out what was wrong w/ him.... he was dying.
He wouldn't drink or eat, and he was breathing hard and not active at all. He was fine yesterday and played and ran around like usual. He seemed sick this evening but came to the front of the cage to let us know that he wanted to be taken out and played w/ like he always does. We (me and my bf) noticed that he wasn't active as much and he was breathing really hard. So I held him for the longest time, tried to put a few drops of water in his mouth but he wouldn't even swallow it. I put him back in his cage and he would just sit there and wouldn't move around and when he tried to go up his tunnel to his place where he kept his food and slept he started to siezure and thats when I knew he was going to die.
So I held him and cried as he died in my hands. =( It's funny how you get attached to an animal.... He was the sweetest thing, he never once bit us or had a temper. He was always active and loved to explore the apartment (with close supervision of course).
Does anyone know what could have happened? He wasn't given anything different to eat or drink, and he stayed in his cage for the last few days except for us picking him up to let him run around on the bed because his exercise ball had broke. He hadn't been dropped or hurt that I know of.
I miss him, he was like a child.. heh. I love Tiny..
