I have never understood why someone as smart as me can't put up with the bullshit that graduating from school involves. I hope my prof. doesn't read Suicide Girls, but here goes, venting.
I was in my Asian Art class, and we were having a discussion about Buddhism. I made mention of the story where Buddha is still a prince in the palace, and he wakes up with all these sleeping concubines, and they are drooling and snoring. And at that moment he is repulsed by them.
After I said it, my prof. said "That's pretty anti-feminist to say he was *repulsed* by them. Why don't we say he wasn't tempted by them?"
Well, guess what bitch. Buddha was NOT A FEMINIST. Back then, in Buddha's time, THAT CONCEPT DIDN'T EVEN EXIST. HE DIDN'T LIKE WOMEN. He didn't even want to start a monastic order for them (although he begrudgingly did it later). I'm sitting there thinking 1) School is so much unbelievable bullshit that I will never escape and 2) Do you want me to look up the scripture and bring it in? The one that uses the word *repulsed*? Because I can do that.
I HATE COLLEGE.
