I've always had a problem with the "Lolita" part in Elegant Gothic Lolita, but I suppose that goes with anyone who has actually ever read the Nabokov. Any book which begins in an insane asylum and ends in a prison, and where all the main characters die, shouldn't allow association with something as gorgeous and seemingly innocent as EGL. I think I should write a series of essays on the subject like Novala. Here's the beginning of the first one.

私はロリ姫達の菩薩です。ロリ姫達の服罪について再来できる。野ばらの随筆は、「乙女の心は壊れやすい硝子のように」って言う。しかし私の壊れ易い心は仏教の三宝である。心の中にはロリちゃんの仏、法と僧である。
