Only about an hour to go until 2006 in Tokyo!!!
Like every Japanese person, I'm watching the music special on NHK. Koda Kumi won what is the Japanese equivalent of a Grammy. SMAP and Morning Musume (even some graduated members, like Ishikawa Rika and Goto Maki) sang that Romanian song "Dragosta Din Tea" together. I am not kidding.
I was going to go to Asakusa shrine today, but Ariel wasn't feeling up to it, so I went to the bookstore and bought a couple of things (including an amazing book, in Japanese of course, about how to act like a princess...Ariel and I both have a purikon, I believe). I ate MosBurger for what is probably the 5th time in a week. When I stay in Japan for long periods I have to make a rule that I can only eat it once a week (it is very unhealthy and expensive).
Tomorrow I'm meeting my host family at the Hachiko statue in Shibuya around 11:30am. Then I'm going to their house for New Year's. I know I'll have a great time.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
