Today involved discount shopping, followed by much glee. I found three really awesome, perfectly sized button down shirts, and one black tee shirt. I realised, as I was thrift store rummaging, that I have no plain black tee shirts and that one is needed desperately. At the dollar store, I just bought a bunch of cheap, yet wonderful make-up. I found the loveliest shade of red nail polish (it's called Cherry ... perfect). As I was walking to my mother's, I decided to stop into this little independent book shop and I found Junky and Naked Lunch by Burroughs, and I HAD to buy them. AS I was walking down the street towards mom's, I ran into my best friend who was on her way to her second interview at Macaroni Grill. So, I sat outside while she was inside. WE then went to my mom's and Matt picked us up shortly after that. WE went over to his house, and I stretched my ears and talked to one of his roommates, Jim, while he showered. Jim does the admitting at a local rehab, and Ashley's best guy friend/crush had just been admitted that day, so the three of us talked about how much we hoped he would make it. He had gone through that same rehab before, but went right back out shortly after graduating. Jim was telling us that Nick seemed different this time. I just think that he really really wants to be clean this time. Before, he had reservations. Now, it's clear to him that he never wants to do heroin, or any drug, again. Which I think is great. Nick is such a lovely person when he's not using, but a liar, theif, and a down-right asshole when he uses. Anyway, the three of us (Ash, Matt, and I) went to our favorite AA meeting. Loads of fun, as always. WE met up there with Amanda and Dave and afterwards, went and had sushi. Matt dropped Ash off, and then me. I did a quick job for my boss, helped her sort through some things she hauled off today. Made a donation pile, and a trash pile. Then we dropped off the donations at Goodwill and loaded the trash in the back for morning. I found a mighty cool lether jacket type thing, so grabbed that for myself. I also found some oil paints and oil pastels that I nabbed. My mom is obsessed with horses, so I put aside two little horse statues for her. Not a bad day at all. Made a quick easy ten bucks, and found a few cool things for myself. All the jacket needs is a little leather conditioner. Oh, and another thing that made me uber happy took place today. My boss had a bag of clothes from a previous job, and she told me to take a looksee. I found an almost brand-new pair of Doc Martins in my size. Lovelieness. I also found a hippie-type shirt that reminded me of Ashley, so I grabbed that for her. Just gonna throw it in my laundry tomarrow, and surprise her with my find. I know she'll love it.
