Written for, not by me. Written by Zanne.
He had catapults for
lips that fired devestating
direct hits on my
fortified soul-
He waged war on those
who had burdened his past -
he made martyrs out of
his memories
crucified those souls
who found a fondness
in Jesus -
saw me as Judas
pierced me like Brutus
perceived me as foolish
and fooled me into thinking
I was an Ally -
he would turn my
words into my
worst enemy -
Two cigarette butts cluttered
the ashtray
I smoke one more
in hopes that it'll
ignite words -
I've smoked cigarettes
till their bitter ends
and ended bitter conversations
with smoke blowing out
of both ears -
He refuses to listen
to me
He refuses to speak
to me -
He refuses to acknowledge
my existence
their was a resistance
in his persistence
he pushes
then pulls away.
We smoked a joint in
my living room and
went outside to see
if their was a place
in between stars to live
And...
All I want to do was
sleep in his star-filled
eyes-
We found a haven in
heaven's comet -
I made no comment
He made no commitment
I could've written a million
poems about his eyes
one for each star
that made them -
We smoked galaxies
the sex was earth shattering
I pull his Orion's Belt
to place a hand on
his Venus -
But he has catapults
for lips -
And I'm done throwing
stones.
