I think that I officially resign myself to lurking for a while.
Stirring up discussion has proved to be a relatively unfruitful and somewhat frustrating act. It seems somewhat inevitable that ego, stubborness, and other related bad things will tend to get in the way of two people sitting down and just *talking* about something.
That's what I love, in my heart of hearts.

I believe that talking about things is the best way that you can get past all those tricky distorted subjectivity things, because you get to see something from someone else's prespective if only for a moment.
But it's hard for people to shut up and just listen sometimes, ya know?
That's the beauty of literature too. Kurt Vonnegut said in one of his books, though I forget which, that the great thing about reading is you get to think the same things as some of the greatest minds that have ever lived. It's a statement that I've agreed with ever since reading it.

I just think it would be a shame, that's all.
Vonnegut is a God though, (even though he often bugs the hell out of me), but his writing is so intelligent & humanistic I always forgive him.
