Ah, finally have a few minutes to sit down and write something... Well, okay, I don't have a few minutes, but I'm going to do it anyways. So there.
So Burning Man was certainly fun, although it was annoying to have to spend the ENTIRE night before we left packing up the trailer and car with all of the communal things like food and our shade structure and not getting help from the rest of the group at all. But oh well, I suppose it wasn't all that bad, though. But then, on the way down there, just this side of Klamath Falls, the bearings on the trailer seized to the axle, thus necessitating a towing to the nearest mechanics, where we had the joy of sleeping in the car outside of their gate until they were able to help us the next morning. So, the axle was totally dead, and in order to get a new axle, we had to buy a whole nother trailer, as it was one of those small trailers that are usually used for dump runs and other cross-town driving and the like. So yeah, that sucked, and ended up costing close to $500 in completely unforseen expenses. However, a new axle was put onto the trailer, and we were able to get back on our way and only be delayed about 18 hours... Now, of course that sucked, as we had food and water in our car for two people who were already in Black Rock City... But yeah, we got down to BRC, and promptly went to sleep. Then the next day we set up our dome, and ate and took naps in its shade. For most of the week, we didn't do anything especially exciting, although some of the art projects were amazing. I wish that I had that kind of talent. It was very impressive. Saturday was fun though; woke up, read a bit, then went bar crawling on the playa, then tore down camp, then went to the burn. Walked all around for another few hours after that, and then went to sleep as the sun was coming up. Then finished packing up and took off on Sunday. It was marvellous.
So I guess that was a bit wordy considering how little it actually explained... Oh well.
So the first week of school was fun, all told... Nothing overly exciting about it, really... The second week has been a very mixed bag. I am now the assistant pool hall manager at my school, which rocks. A lot. However, my grandmother in Tennessee who my brother and I used to go out and visit every other summer slipped into a coma Monday morning and isn't expected to come out of it. And that sucks. A lot. And so I have been dealing with that for the last couple of days and been getting more and more behind in my homework. And I will be leaving for Tennessee probably this weekend for a few days at least, so I will be even more behind, and all in all, it is just not a good way to start a semester. My brain is all shot. So yeah, I'll stop with the sob story now and head back off to my homework.
Bah, I say. Bah.
