People amaze me... not in a good way either. Was heading into the grocery store to get the shopping done with my son this afternoon when I passed by a group of teens hanging out. The girls were dressed in the risque manner so popular these days and the guys were quite scruffy but too be honest they aren't a bad bunch of kids, just bored in a small town without much distraction for their age group (one was our neighbor's son... a high honors earning student who is into skate boarding.) Got my mission accomplished and was on my way out when a huge scene developed. The mother of one of the girls had showed up and was going absolutely bonkers on her daughter. Calling her a whore, a slut, a tramp, etc... I mean really off the wall and starting to get physical. Now... here's the thing that was odd... the old gal was dressed far worse than her daughter in daisy dukes so short her cheeks were hanging out and a tank top with no bra on.
Being the sort that prefers my child doesn't get exposed to such colorfull metaphores at this early an age I politely projected my voice (remember... former infantry NCO here) and asked her to keep it civil in public. She started to squawk something in reply then either noticed my expression or my little guy and decided to use a bit of discretion... not sure which. Either way, she calmed down a bit and started hissing rather than screaming at her kid. Police cruiser rolled up as I was loading the groceries into the car and I noticed one of the responding officers was a buddy from my VFW chapter. He came over to chat while his partner took care of the situation and informed me that the woman was a regular client of theirs... for everything from public intoxication to soliciting.
Yeah... pot calling the kettle black situation to say the least but part of me wonders if her rage had more to do with seeing herself in her daughter than anything else. Ah well... life is complicated enough without contemplating other's problems.... heh, the wife always accuses me of thinking too much.

I know it's wrong but I am such a lookey loo!! I am so happy my girls did not grow up to be like me lol,,,I am such a prude where they are concerned!! Maybe it's because I actually wear a bra in public and demand that they read books ..get straight A's and act just like the nerds I hope they grow up to be!!! LOL And nope not thinking to much at all..the apple never falls far from the tree..I just wanna know how you are going to react when your little man brings a girl just like her home..saying DAD I AM IN LOVE!!

LOL! Great response Merlowe. Have to be honest that I don't know how I'll react except that I hope he'll understand the differance between love and lust.
