Got my lab tests back today. My thyroid is 3.6 (supposed to be .5-2.5) which could explain why I have trouble losing weight. Also my cholesterol is 240 (supposed to be about 175 - my dad said his cholesterol was 240 when he was 35 and they put him on meds...)
So I will probably be starting a new round of meds that I will have to take for the rest of my life. It's time to start looking into getting my tubes tied so I can take one less daily med... I really hate mixing meds so the less the better.
The good news: Because of my bad cholesterol I have to go on a diet, and because of my thyroid I will be taking meds that boost my metabolism. So there's almost no way I won't lose a ton of weight. If any of my veggie/vegan friends have some heart-friendly recipes to share, I'd be super grateful! I'm going to be going mostly veggie (occasional fish and chicken). Also I now have a fabulous excuse to drink red wine daily.
