I find it quite fitting that today is a cold, miserable, rainy day as I have just lost a friend. An online conversation about fairly deep topics - existence, friendship, love, ended when she signed off without responding. I tried to contact her a few times, write, call, but she chose not to answer. My speculation (well supported by other conversations with mutual friends) is that she had feelings for me and I might have inadvertently said something to belittle them. We were good friends - able to talk to each other about anything, but our life paths were quickly diverging. She was heading for Finland in the fall (9 month school term), Italy after, them Paris or Tokyo. I am going to London for a year or two, and after that, Montreal. I thought that a summer fling would have ruined our friendship - I guess all it took was a few unintentional words.


Rant about the world:

I find it really discouraging that people still choose to play games. Fuck insecurities, just be yourself, say what you want to (respectfully), and ALWAYS be prepared to back up what you say! See how nicely honesty plays into all of this... more people should try it!
