I have a bunch of hobbies because I learn about something and want to try it. I kind of cycle through them. One hobby I did all the time, for the better part of 30 years is photography. When I'd go out on the weekends, I usually had a camera bag with me and a couple cameras. However, I haven't done much since 2022. I dusted off a camera for a comic convention a year ago, but that was it. This place isn't inspiring and I can't afford to travel (thanks congress). I still have film from Las Vegas in December 2019 I need to develop.
One hobby I kind of picked up again is coin collecting. I know, super sexy. I have a bunch of those coin books because it makes for a cheap hobby. Those coins are usually easy to come by just getting loose change. Last Friday, I decided to buy four rolls of half dollars from the bank. To my surprise, I found three 40% silver half dollars (minted 1965-1970). It's a simple way of owning a bit of history. For those wondering, it is about $14 worth of silver in those three coins (combined). I get rid of the coins I don't need by spending them in the self checkouts at various stores.
