I feel a little sorry for those stuck in the traffic jam during the blizzard. At the same time, not too sorry. That is exactly why I've had an emergency kit (get home bag) in my car for decades. The situation does remind me of something that happened many moons ago.
In the early 90s, I worked at a Blockbuster Video in Chicago. We had a blizzard and all the TV stations had their reporters doing live shots saying "if you don't have to go out, stay home." Everyone within 5 miles of my store was like "that's a good idea. Let's go rent a movie and stay home." The store was packed. >facepalm<
For those of you too young to know; back in the early 90s, before the world wide web was a thing, we didn't have streaming. we had to go to a store, rent a movie on video tape and bring it home to watch.
.... a video tape is what movies were on before DVD and Blu-Ray were invented.

The last video store in my town closed in late January or February last year. It was half a block from my place. Prior to the covid shutdown, it was doing enough business to stay open. Covid killed it.
