A couple years ago, I bought a vintage Canon Auto Zoom 814 super8 movie camera (made 1966-1972). I put batteries in it and it ran but I hadn't put it to the test until my vacation in October. I bought some super8 film and batteries so I could take it with me. I shot a roll and a half on vacation in Florida and finished the roll here. When I got home, it was peak fall color time so I got some movies of the colors. In early December, I sent the rolls for developing and scanning.
Today I got word that they are on their way back. The guy who does the scanning said the exposures were excellent. That means the meter in the camera is accurate, which is very good news. He said there is a little dust that needs to be blown out of the camera before I use it again. I think I can handle that. It was a lot of fun shooting old school home movies and I look forward to seeing them and editing them. I'll post a movie clip, if I can. I've been thinking about a road trip this summer and the movie camera will definitely come with me.
