What a weekend. My boyfriend was out of town, first at ACEN, then he went straight to Iowa to visit his sister, her husband and their brand-new son Grant. I wish I could have gone. I've only seen pictures so far and I just can't wait to meet the tiny guy!
For me, Friday was a full day of cleaning, show prep and dragging four bags (one of which was two thirds of my height and probably two thirds of my weight) across town on several public transit vehicles. Eventually I ended up the Trap Door Theatre for a film fundraiser. It went really well! Met some groovy girls there and went out with them for cocktails at Tantrum afterward. Then it was home for a nice old fashioned good night's sleep.
Saturday consisted of a Michael's run (with a cameo by the hottest cashier ever!), some vanilla errands and then ZOMBIFICATION! I went over to Salome's house to make blood and guts for our number with Sauda. We took some video of our ridiculousness for your viewing pleasure and it will be posted soon. The blood and guts weren't just for fun (although that isn't unlike something we would do,) they were for Viva La Muerte's Hot and Heavy Burlesque Tribute to Horror Films (a mouthful, right?). The three of us did a tribute to Dawn of the Dead. It was brilliant. The whole show was a huge hit. It was hosted by Ari Lehman, the first Jason himself! I also did a solo tribute to Stephen King's It, which went really, really well. I went home unforgivably sticky and gross and various shades of red that night and took a lovely bubble bath with green apple dish soap bubbles which was the only thing that managed to get everything off of me.
Sunday. Work. Nothing worth mentioning until the evening. Had a lovely lady date with my good friend Lissa. We had delicious Middle Eastern cuisine at Zad's on Broadway near Belmont. I highly recommend it.
Yesterday the beau finally got home and I got to see him after work. A lovely night of friskiness and sleepy-time cuddling ensued. ::sigh:: Wonderful.
Today I'm at the boy's place cuddling with a loverly kitty and dicking around online until I have to drag my sorry ass to work at 5.
Later, bitches.

sauda:
We are awesome. And you're a fucking burlesque marine. Especially considering that IT number was hella long and still mega entertaining.
