The big news today from this part of the world was a 5.5 earthquake, the first I've ever experienced. The last quake in the region was in 1935 so definitely something we are not used to. The news is full of people's stories about what happened. Its funny but almost everyone thought that it was initally something else, a bomb, construction, heavy machinery, a train, falling bricks, only after it was underway did most people realize it was a quake. There are some things in life that we just assume. i assumed, at least til today, that the ground underneath me was always solid, now I realize that nature is supreme that we really don't have any control over certain things but that we all share something in common, in our shared experiences and reactions today. Luckily, no one was hurt.
