...I had to work last night to the ringing of bells in the background. A nurse I work with decided to be in the holiday season and wear socks with bells on them... it got old. VERY old. Quickly. I'm so glad that I was at work only four hours last night. I would have definatly gone psychotic.

I've hated these commericals since I saw the start of the ad campain. I personally hate the fact that for a very long time corporate america, hip/hop and pop culture is using Chinese/asian symbols/themes only further contributing to Asian stereotypes. As an Asian American I know firsthand how greatly under represented we are in the public media beyond the "traditional" stereotypes we are portrayed. To see symbols, cloths and people that my culture deems sacred to only further place us as the Computer Geeks, William Hungs, Math wiz, Kung Fu master, Fu Man Chu, railroad workers. ***rage building, boiling up***
China Bans Nike Commercial
Yeah I'm a cultural mutt. I speak no Mandarin or cantonese, but I am proud.

So today I've crunched down on the OChem thing. I read two chapter and hopefully I'll be working on stuff tomorrow before the review. I will day this I was caught for a great view while studying. I was on the fourth floor and had a great view of the college and town. After pausing to stretch my neck I looked up. To see a great sky of clouds moving right at me. Nothing like seeing a swarm of grey clouds morphing shape and they pass over your head. I guess it just reminds me of my love of Chinese Scroll Landscapes. How they remind me of how small humans and our "great" society is when the great scheme of things are taken into account. How nature will always tower over us.
So how was your day?
