So last night I got to sleep and it's raining... and I wake up to a winter wonderlad.
4 inches of Snow in Athens, Georgia
*throws a snowball at you*
School = Cancelled
Work = Drove slow but I made it. All the old people decided to walk in the snow today and break their hips
The Doctor I was working with "Call the nursing homes and tell them to lock up the residents in their rooms and if the residents refuse then chain them to their beds."
So before I left we had a 15 yrd male come in via ambulance with a police escort. Not good. Seems the mom called EMS because he was being homicidal. Not thinking that the police will also show up in that situation. So the cops show up. He rushes them. Not a good idea. They throw him to the ground cuffing him and he busts his head and wrist. The mom then freaks out and they have to physically take her out of the ambulance. He show up to the ER on the gurny and cuffed to the gurny. Thank god that was at the end of my shift. I was out of their, the situation was so volitile. Especially when she showed up with relatives and headed for his room with the cops standing guard, telling her to wait outside. :-/
So with my class cancelled I headed downtown to study. It was so quite but with everything covered in snow made a sight to see.
There something about listening to The Cure and walking to my car, smoking a cig after a nice nite of studying at the coffee shop.
So tomorrow I'm teching again. With all the snow melting and the temperature going below freezing tonight I'm almost guaranteeing that we'll be flooded with patients who slipped and fell, breaking something in the process. At least I get to practice splinting tomorrow.
It's cold tonight. I want someone to sleep next to
