Friday I played games with friends in Brisbane until the sun came up drinking my new favourite cider.
Saturday I cooked an enormous pot of vegetarian spaghetti bolognese for myself and two friends. They pulled up stools at the kitchen counter and I kept their glasses full while I cooked. Fantastic chats were had. I'll have enough left overs to feed me well into this week.
Sunday the job hunt began anew, figured nobody wanted someone throwing a resume in their face on a busy Friday or Saturday night. A local friend showed me where some of the places are hiding up dark alleys, then we went back to his and he cooked up some vege patties. Then I wandered down to a friend's restaurant and she fed me red wine while I read the comics I'd picked up this week and listened to the jazz playing down the alley.
Not even a month ago, I would have killed for a weekend like this. It's just a shame I had to be unemployed for it to happen. Job hunt is promising. Things will get better, hopefully.
I get my tax return early next week. It'll be enough to get me back to Brisbane, kinda hope it doesn't come to that but I am missing all my friends something fierce. I've already said this but especially the ones I could call up at any hour and they'd come hang out. Here I organise to meet up with people days or weeks in advance and they tend to bail at the last minute.
Productivity on Australian Gamer has sky-rocketed. Currently writing 3 reviews and posting news as I see it. Gotta take wins where I can find them.
Now to wash up the mountain that Saturday night's cook up produced. Think this will have to become a weekly thing.
