My band is at this weird spot right now where we're looking for a drummer. Our current drummer is way too good at guitar to be stuck behind a kit and our one guitarist and co-vocalist he's replacing wants to just do vocals and keyboards. Awesome in theory, but drummers...wait...GOOD drummers are hard to find. So today, we played with having our drums MIDI form through our Roland keyboard. It was pretty funny to say the least. Metal with MIDI drums.
I went to a show last night, it was the first show for the beginning of August Burns Red's headline tour with Sky Eats Airplane, A Skylit Drive, Greeley Estates, and This or The Apocalypse. It was crowded since 3 of the 6 bands playing this show were locals (ABR, TOTA, and opener A Late Night Serenade). It rained and it was hot as hell in there. So it was sooo humid. I ended up seeing SEA and leaving before A Skylit Drive and ABR even played.
2 dudes and a girl watching the door at one point gave me shit telling me no re-entry even though I've done it so many times before and I had my hand stamped. I was going to my car to put a record I purchased from the store in my car. They started giving me shit about buying a crappy record (Saves The Day's Sound The Alarm), and started dropping old school hardcore band names like the Cro-Mags that started before those kids were even fucking born. It told them "fuck you, it's your opinion" in regards to me buying a shitty record. Dropped the fact that I've known the owners of the venue before they even opened the place and I will let them know that they have shitty door people... that let me go. Haha. I almost said "fine, fuck this, I'm leaving then". It pays to know people.
I'm too old for this drama bullshit. This is why I stopped going to shows. Crowded, full of kids and assholes.
Go leave Sassie some love on her new set if you haven't already!

That's the one thing I hate about shows, the little scene kids.
