I'll never understand why I continue to go to college parties where I clearly don't belong.
lost_pebbles:
Good Morning!
Hmm. partying has never been my thing... I've always felt out of place for some reason... Do you go with a bunch of friends.. have fun & then later think you don't belong there or...?
Ps. It's raining outside. Gotta love it.
friedbanana105:
Because this one might be different!

Huh...

This weekend was a bit crazy. I didn't come home for three days, staying at a friends house with about $150 of various bbq foods and pasta dishes, a few Tigers games, and lots of random people hanging out. We completely embraced the hot, muggy Michigan summer by shutting down the central air and opening the windows, using strategically placed fans to keep the...

We had our long weekend a week earlier: Victoria Day. smile

Bummer about the chick and the pills, but you're right about the low libido being a good thing.

Dammit.

So, apparently I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. This accounts for the chest pains, sleepless nights, and the mind that never, ever shuts off. Lexapro is the drug of choice these days, which is what I was put on this morning.

You can imagine why this disturbs me. Being a person who doesn't feel he's got much to offer the world except his ability to...

Yay for the new hoodie.

GO CORK TOWN! WHOOOO!
lost_pebbles:
Very cute! Um, as far as my hair.. I wanted to dye it the same color.. just because it was fading & my old blonde highlights were starting to show again but, I left the dark brown dye on for too long & now have black hair. It's alright.. I guess..

Alright...what the heck happened?

The weekend did not go much as planned. The one thing that went off did so flawlessly and the rest of the time was pretty much crap. We did, in fact, go to John King Books in Detroit which saw me walking away with five books that I'm very excited about reading. One, Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury, is actually a...

Oh, damn. My back is killing me.

I wish I could say it was from the wild sex last night, but alas, that is a memory of my younger days. No, I fell asleep propped up all funny while reading and woke about four hours later. This morning, getting out of bed was like a circus of sore muscle and shooting pain in the neck...

Wow, you've got a great weekend mapped out.

It's a long weekend here (Victoria Day), and the weather seems to be cooperating, so I'll probably try to hit a beach, or at least spend some time outside. There's a parade on Monday that we may go to, etc. etc. Nothing too amazing, but better than being at work. tongue

We need to have more wine parties. Will Ferrell is infinitely more funny, if that is possible, fruit becomes the snack of choice, Bobby dishes out concussions with his forehead, and everyone is a philosopher. That's a recipe for fun if you ask me.

The luandry list of books I'd like to read is starting to coalesce into an actual summer reading plan that has...

I think I get it.
I'm a big fan of his tics. I love the way he uses them to bring you right back to where you were the last time he used one. Or something like that.
I find that I'm often arguing with people about him and I don't like it. I'm going to start refusing to do so. As with everything else, it's all about personal preference and I happen to prefer him. Over almost all modern authors. So far he's only written one book I'm not wild about. And the travel book is for Portland, which happens to be my favorite city in the US.
I think I'd love to be friends with him.

Speaking of books about people in high school-have you read The Perks of Being a Wallflower?
Someone asked me what the most beautiful book I've ever read was and before I even had a chance to think about it, I blurted out that and House of Leaves. I guess I'd add to the list for sure but that was a pretty good start. I believe it's worth checking out if you haven't already.

well today looks to be nice-ish...

you'd better get outside and fly a kite before it starts raining again. or maybe a picnic...that sounds like fun! wink

This might help explain my life as of late, and the post I made here last night which I'm still trying to discover the actual thoughts present in my head at the time of said posting. Thing is, I was really, really hammered. So here it is, direct from my livejournal, just in case you're one of the two people on my list here who...

Wow. Rough night, what you can remember of it. I had one of those a little over a year ago. I guess I should say one too many -- I haven't had a drink since.

Good luck avoiding your third strike.
friedbanana105:
Yeah, there is a lot to see. The east coast is beautiful, with lots of little fishing villages and that whole "Anne of Green Gables" thing... Quebec is, well, French and all, so that's got to be different. Its two major cities, Montreal and Quebec City are like night and day, the former very cosmopolitan and the latter steeped in history. You can head north and see Inuit communities, polar bears, and Santa Claus. The prairies offer flatness, oil wells, and that kind of charm. The Rockies are amazing and not at all like their American cousins. BC has wineries, Vancouver, many native communities, killer whales... Lots of animals... Lakes, lakes, lakes everywhere! Three oceans... Yes, there are experiences as diverse as you could expect within the realms of the western hemisphere.

I tend not to go more than ten miles from home. tongue

where do i fit in to all of 6this?
friedbanana105:
Why does there have to be a purpose? Why do you have to fit into anything?

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

Of course, I had to wake up and deal with bill collector this morning, so that was a great start to my day, heh.

Tonight will be a quiet one. I'm super low on cash, and will probably spend what little I have left on comic books or something. A few friends of mine and I intend on having...
