Well...
I'm still here.
Apparently the site auto-bills for membership, so I accidentally bought three more months on the site yesterday, over-drawing my account quite a bit. My bad on that one. I don't know where I got the idea that when my time was up it would just automatically cancel or at least ask to continue membership.
So, here's an update: School has started, and the workload has already tripled from what it was three weeks ago. A lot of my time is taken up with studying, but it's a subject I enjoy: medicine. I'm doing the Medical Assisting program at Macomb, and it's much more rigorous than I assumed. I'm putting everything I've got into this with the hopes that knowing the vast amount of required field knowledge from front to back will allow me to take the certification and leave the state for greener pastures. I'm particularly keeping an eye toward Nashville as my future living place. I went there a few times over the summer and fell in love with it.
As if I didn't have enough work to do with school, I also decided to start the Medical Assistant's Club at Macomb, aptly named Student Organization for Medical Assistants (SOMA). For those of you that get the acronym reference, you have a special place in my heart. What's great about this is that I spend about 4 full days a week surrounded by chicks. Did I meantion I'm one of two guys in the whole CMA program at school?
I also got a job, for those of you that were aware I was technically unemployed. After spending most of the summer doing bitch work for my mom and her fellow real estate agents and snagging little money-makers off of craigslist.com (which, by the way, if you're looking for short-term gigs doing whatever, check that site out) I settled in to a nice part-time position at Hollywood Video. It's not a bad job. We have a low-volume store, so it never really gets busy, we have a ton of regular characters that come for entertainment, and I get to watch a shit-ton of free films. I'm making my way through the Audrey Hepburn collection with each passing shift.
I reckon I missed a lot while I was gone. Since I'm paying for it again, I might as well use it, so I'll be around. Leave me some love and tell me how you've been!
