9/10
This movie gets a lot right and manages to avoid many worn out tropes that you see in other films of the same genre (tho there was one that jumped out at me towards the end). The story takes an interesting direction in act 2 that gives the whole film way more depth than you'd think it should be able to pull off.
The main cast definitely seem to be having fun in their roles:
• Ryan Reynolds is his usual charming self, but there's this great, wide-eyed innocence to the titular Guy that elevates his performance.
• Jodie Comer (from Killing Eve) as Millie and Joe Keery (from Stranger Things) as Keys both start off feeling a little hollow, but as the story picks up you realize that their characters are both feeling that way themselves - Guy is the spark that actually lets their characters grow.
• Taika Waititi is a great send-up of all the bad-boy game executives we loathe IRL from places like Riot, Rockstar, and Blizzard; he does a great job of being simultaneously a mustache twirling villain and a man with his head fully inserted up his own ass - it's delightful.

• There are a host of cameos throughout the movie - some are great gags, but a fair few are there to actually add some legitimacy to the proceedings (though I suspect it will definitely date the film in a few years as some of those folks fade into obscurity - you'll know who I mean when you see them).
• Even the supporting cast has some great moments, though Buddy (played by Lil Rel Howery) definitely steals a more than a few scenes.
Overall this film has a great story with good direction and a wonderful cast. There are some really enjoyable moments sprinkled throughout the film. Jodie's character Mille had my favorite one & even though it was spoiled by a commercial it still made me lol in the moment.
Right now I think it's only in theaters because of some streaming rights issues - TL:DR this was made prior to the Disney/Fox merger and Fox had sold the streaming rights to Warner, so there's that. If you feel comfortable seeing it in theaters, then it's worth it IMHO - the place I went wasn't very crowded. If you don't, then it probably won't be too long before you can catch it elsewhere.
