This a weird film…but in a good way. You’re going to wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into within the first 15 minutes, but bear with it. The payoff is worth it

It’s a challenging film to review because even a high-level summary the story gives too much away. The trailer gives too much away TBH. There are definite similarities to the 2001 Jet Li...

This is the third of the standalone MCU Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland and it picks up immediately after the end of the last film (Far From Home).

This film has a lot of cameos - A Lot. Depending on how many of the previous Spider-Man films you’ve watched over the years, some of them may be more impactful than others. There are quite...

Hello all! First off, to those of you who have enjoyed my previous reviews, thank-you for your kind words.

I actually started reviews for some other films I’ve seen recently (specifically Dune, The Last Duel, & Eternals), but one thing lead to another and I never got around to finishing and posting them. At this point they’ve been out for weeks (or months) already and...

This film was a good follow-up to the first two Ghostbusters films (it has no relation to the 2016 film). Jason Reitman - son of the co-writer & director of the original film - fills the same role for this film that his father did with the first one. You can tell they spent a lot of time working and reworking this script before...

Enjoyed the heck out of the movie. I plan to pick it up the moment it hits Blu-ray. And while I definitely felt the cast was great in this movie, McKenna absolutely blew me away with how good she was. I'm definitely hoping the next one has the same amount of love to it.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a great martial arts movie. It marries the spirit of the Hong Kong martial arts movies that have come before with Marvel production values and humor. The chemistry between Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and Katy (Awkwafina) is delightful - they feel like friends that have grown up together. The movie takes the time to let the...

This movie gets a lot right and manages to avoid many worn out tropes that you see in other films of the same genre (tho there was one that jumped out at me towards the end). The story takes an interesting direction in act 2 that gives the whole film way more depth than you'd think it should be able to pull off.

The...

The Suicide Squad (not to be confused with the 2016 film Suicide Squad) is superior in a lot of ways to it's predecessor thanks in large part to James Gunn - the cast is (in a lot of ways) better, script is tighter, the directing uses the actors to much greater effect, and the soundtrack (much like Gunn's two Guardians of the Galaxy films) has...

The latest entry in the MCU and the appetizer course for Avengers: Endgame was a very enjoyable film. I’ve now seen it 3 times in the theater - once in 3D & twice in 2D (nothing is really added by 3D). This is Marvel’s second prequel film & the 90s makes for a fun setting...especially for those who remember the 90s. The de-aging CGI they...

Overall this was an extremely good movie & I enjoyed it quite a lot. The cast was great, the cinematography was amazing, and the direction was top notch. This is the best film in the entirety of the DC Comics Cinematic Universe...though as a friend pointed out after the movie, that is not exactly a high bar to clear. It's not a perfect film, but...

I like that you are a movie critic. Once I started acting I started picking movies apart in ways I never thought of prior. Acting, special effects, camera clips, songs.. anyways wonder woman I thoroughly enjoyed although the 1984 film I couldn't get in to.

Overall it was a very entertaining movie whose only shortcoming was that it is a sequel to the first film. If taken on its own this could easily have been a great first introduction to these characters. As it stands, it helps deepen our understanding of the main characters, but their overall place in the MCU doesn't advance much since they're basically marking time until...

First off, let me say that I thoroughly enjoyed this film and will probably see it again in the theater to try and catch more Easter eggs. I highly recommend seeing it, but don't bother with 3D.

Among my favorite bits in the film:

• Bucky, Cap, & Falcon - lots of good moments between these guys.

• Ant-Man - Paul Rudd delivers again. He...

First off, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. From the beginning of the opening credits to the stinger at the end I was amused to one degree or another. The while film has the feel of a labor of love. The cast brings their A game, the script is very faithful to the source material, & the soundtrack is almost as good as the...
