Have you ever had a roommate inform you that he/she cannot make rent this month? Rent is due tomorrow and I had my newest roommate just tell me he can't make rent. He doesn't even have a job yet and he's been living here for almost a month! I let him slide on last month's rent because he moved in part-way through the month, but we pay rent at the beginning of the month for the month coming up. The other probelm aside from him not having a job and constantly sucking face with my other roommate, his girlfriend, is that he is not on the lease. He is not legally accountable for the rent! WTF was I thinking when I agreed to let him move in without going on the lease? Ugh. I'm an idiot. So tonight I sat down and wrote down all of the monthly bills, expenses, etc, divided it by three and figured out how much he's going to owe me for august. I will do this again for september. The other thing is, we're kind of communal about groceries, but not really. I'm the only one who can actually cook, so I buy the things I know I can make, so I end up spending a lot more on groceries to feed everyone. I don't know what to do, I'm not going to suddenly write my name on everything and not share. I like cooking for everyone, I just don't want to be used. And it's not like I'm rich or anything, I'm a student and I just started waitressing on the side. I can barely make rent every month which is why I agreed to let him move in, I was thinking the rent would go down. Now I'm paying the same amount and I share my bathroom and living space with an extra person. This is not going according to plan and I don't know what to do. I don't want to be a bitch, but I want my freaking money! Wow, felt good to at least get it out in the open, kind of.
Also, on a side note, I just started working at Denny's. They need people for every position. Above roommate has no job, and no previous job experience, at all, and he is 19. I suggested that he apply to be a dishwasher at Denny's because number one, it requires no skill whatsoever and they would hire him, number two, I work there so they would definitely hire him. When I suggested this, and mentioned that they pay $7.50/hour which is unheard of for dishwashers, who normally make minimum wage or less and aren't even legal, he shrugged and went back to playing video games on his computers. All of the retail jobs he applied to have not called him back, because they want someone experienced. He has no experience at all, at least dishwashing he'd get some job experience, and he's be able to make rent! Ugh I am sooooooo pissed the more I think about this. I need to drink some vodka and go to bed.

Sounds like a pickle
Would talking to your other roommate help at all? Tell her to that he needs to pay up or he's out. Warn her he needs to get his shit in gear or your kicking his ass out!
Still..... he sounds like a loser to me... just kick him out...
