Oh my goddddddddddddd, I feel so completely blocked lately. I haven't had a creative (i.e. non paid gig for clients) shoot in over a month and I'm ready to pull out my hair. I have some cool concepts I want to shoot, but either the weather doesn't cooperate or the ideas I have are difficult to cast.
I've found the hardest part of being a photographer is relying on other people to work with me to bring my ideas to life. When I was a writer, I could do everything on my own. But as a sort of pernicious side effect, I became so insular that didn't develop relationships outside my online contacts, editors, publishers, etc. Now I'm working in a field where I can't do anything on my own (since self portraits and landscapes aren't my thing). The adjustment has been difficult at times.
