Omg! I forgot how much i loved my old laptop. It's hella heavy and super large compared to the newer one and doesn't have a built in web cam. it's also missing 5 keys off the keyboard and really dirty. But, I'm getting a new keyboard this week and E can put it in. And i just got the sound to work again for the first time in over a year!!!!!
It has a couple super convenient features the newer laptop doesn't have. A little scroller bar on the mouse pad, and the sound control, pause and fast forward/ rewind buttons are all part of a little launch strip at the top above the actual keyboard. he keys are also bigger and more spaced out which makes typing a little easier. It also doesn't heat up as bad as the other laptop.
Now that the sound is working it's about to be a perfectly functional piece of equipment again and i can't freaking wait!
I've missed my extra buttons more than i ever thought i could.
Maybe i can even convince E to put in some extra RAM so it will run a little smoother and with less hangups.
But, besides the multiple oozing details about my computer.... life has actually been really lovely for the last little bit.
We were freaking out about having to move AGAIN! for a little bit but, that's all been worked out with our jackass landlord.
The baby has been sleeping so much better for the past few nights. Which makes my life so much easier. Having to go in and settle him back to sleep every hour to hour and a half was getting crazy. Now he gives me a good 4-5 hour stretch before i go in and feed him and bring him to bed with us for the rest of the night. And he's been staying asleep til about 8:30 or 9 which is super helpful when i've been up til 4 am working.
He's also been crawling like a flash of light into everything and climbing onto anything over 2 feet tall trying to walk. I eventually have to cage him up in his play pen or put him in his exersaucer because he's into everything.
We had a lovely relaxing weekend with lots of sleeping and fun outings. We went to a children's resale store about an hour for us and got most of O's winter gear and a few things for me because i am ridiculously small for around $40. Which make me happy. I hate spending alot of money for clothes and i rarely buy anything for myself that i don't absolutely need.
Also got to shop through the big mall and got a better quality hair dye than what i've been using and E bought me a gift at teavana.
First time i've ever had teavana tea at home. We always get the free samples if we are near one but, as much as i love tea, i'm usually broke and just end up buying it in a box from the grocery store.
We also went swimming and took the wee one into the cold, cold river up in the mountains that I love to swim in for the first time.
It's breath taking and icy cold like tiny needles in your chest when you first jump in. So the baby only got wet to his diaper. It makes me breathe so heavy if i swim in it for very long. the double effort of keeping my body temp up and fighting the light current makes for some serious calorie burning.
