Today I am in Rome!
I am thrilled to be here. Florence was lovely, but there was a weird vibe about the city. I do have stories (which I will post when I am not being charged for time). I did see Michelangelo's David (I finally found an apostrophe key). Holy crap it was much larger than I imagined. The artwork was fantastic, and the cathedrals, magnifico! I am awestruck that I'm actually in Italy. I know, I have been here for over a week, but it hasn't completely sunk in until now.
The hostel situation has been in between good and strange. I have a ton of odd bug bites, but I didn't see a single bug in my room. Ahh those bed bugs do tend to gnaw on you while you sleep and I have over fourteen itchy red spots to prove it.
So, what's the deal with gelato being cheaper than diet coke? Don't these people know I have an ugly addiction which I must feed? Or maybe they do know... one 500ml bottle costs anywhere from 2$ up to 4$ depending where you buy it. And today the euro is down to .87 cents to our dollar. I so wish I had some American money on me that way I could get an awesome exchange rate. When I changed my money it cost 1.30 to 1 euro. And that concludes your lesson in economics.
Anyhow, I will type more soon. In the meantime I have ruins to visit and creepy Italian men to blow off.
Ciao
