last night was the New York City premiere of AMERICAN HARDCORE.
at the last minute i get a phone call telling me i'm on the list for one reason or another. rad.
this is last minute, mind you, but how hard could it be to find three others to watch the very foundation of the only music movement that's mattered in the past 40 years... amongst the founders themselves.
seriously i was two seats from john joseph from the cro-mags, HR and doc from bad brains, original misfit bobby steele, dez cadena not to mention a whole theater of others i didn't see...?
how hard?
i sat in the theater holding three unused tickets.
luckily i ran into some film and skateboard related friends right before it started so i didn't have to sit alone and look like a total schmuck.
good flick (some editing issues, but fuck i'm sitting across from H.R!) and free drinks at the after party. then off to an after-after party with even free-er drinks. then spot to spot with a small crew where i ran into our very own Katie.
...and to believe the day started out so boring.
incidently... that's dez with the very first black flag tattoo ever given... to anyone!

Is that think vid you were talking about the one where drehobl skates to holiday in cambodia and destroys the china banks in SF? If so, that is one of my favorite video parts of all time.
