Another spring break gone...another spring break I've never spent in a tropical location sipping pina coladas from coconuts. As I think back to all of the spring breaks I've had in my lifetime, I realize that I've never traveled anywhere like this. Sure, there were a few overnight trips, but nothing outstanding.
Once, we went to Deer Creek Lodge (a state park near Columbus) for a two-night stint playing free video games and ordering pizza to our room. Many years ago, we spent one night in Windsor, drinking and gambling. Last year, we spent a night at Niagara Falls with a room overlooking the sights with a whirlpool (did you know they turn the lights off at 10 pm?). Unfortunately, thats the end of my list. Ive been a student for over eight years (add embarrassment here) and Ive no spring break anecdotes to show for it!
Traditionally, students spend their week drinking themselves silly, having sex with strangers and lying on the beach letting the UV rays increase their lifetime chance of developing skin cancer. In some ways I envy those bastards. Students with rich parents who can afford to supply them with spring break trips every year. Other students work hard to buy their own trip and have a great time without regard for the cost. Consider yourselves lucky! Spend money! Live carefree and outside your means to enjoy your youth! Consequences, schmonsequences. Rack up that credit card debt and worry about it later!
I know what youre saying youre an adult so do whatever you want! That mentality only works when I want ice cream for breakfast or to go to bed without brushing my teeth. When it comes to money, I am more reserved. I work hard at saving, but I always have the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. These feelings prevent me from living without regard for consequences. Being an adult can be a drag sometimes. What does our adultness get us? The ability to buy booze and porn, rent cars and hotel rooms when we travel, and get married and divorced when we wish, all with added responsibility!
I vow that next year, no matter what the cost, I will find myself on a sunny beach in a remote location, sipping pina coladas from coconuts!

I've never gone on a spring break. One day, probably when I'm about 45, I'm gonna go on one - Cancun or some place like that - get drunk with teenagers and flash my man-nips to all the girls-gone-wild hollocameras ('cause they're gonna have hollocameras by then... obviously...)
