I discovered iTunes radio this week...groove salad is fabulous. Why didn't I know about this before?

Sometimes, I think about him. The ex. I don't want to. I wish this one was a faded memory of a year's turmoil. I want him to be completely out of my life, yet he still remains. I beat myself up over why I care, why I bother, and why he pops into my head at random moments. And why the fuck can't I just let it go. I knew him a year, but am I scarred for life? I am tired of being angry at him. I haven't spoken to him in over a year (aside from a few random phone calls he made to me only to get my voicemail, but never told me why he called). It is quite obvious that he "just wasn't that into me." Maybe there's a book that can help.

Have you ever heard of Ekhart Tolle? He's a spiritual teacher (non-religious) who talks a great deal about not letting thinking about your past define you. He discusses at great lengths the need to be focused in the present moment vs. past or future. It's sort of like meditation, but it really isn't. My wife went through a bad time with her ex taking their son out of state 1500 miles away without permission and turning him against her by lying about her, etc. She found a great deal of guidance from E. Tolle's teaching and still does when the past brings up painful memories. One of Tolle's main books is the Sun Always Rises and he has several others. He also does audio CD's of his books which are pretty cool to listen to as well. A movie came out recently that is similar to a lot of his philosphy called Peaceful Warrior. Take care.
