My search for a full-time job has been inexplicably fruitless in the last 6 months. I thought for sure I would have something by now. I also keep telling myself that patience will turn my on-call position into a full-time one. If I could just hang out until the end of the fiscal year and see what happens when they re-do their budget, will they make room for one more full timer in such a small department?
So, every weekend, I spend a few hours searching the job boards and applying for jobs that I never seem to get called for, even just for an interview. And if I get the interview, I haven't gotten a call back for an offer (or second interview). What's going on? I've got all of the appropriate qualifications and then some.
Addendum:
Okay, this has absolutely nothing to do with jobs hunting...but I must vent. Why does a man think it's perfectly acceptable to send a women who he just met (or started a conversation with on an IM program) a picture of his penis? I mean, WHAMO and there it is. Staring me in the face. I didn't ask to see it. I don't want to see it. If I wanted to see, I'd ask.
Listen up fellas...it's not sexy. It doesn't turn us on. It's not going to entice us to drop our boundaries and run out to meet you ASAP. When a woman acts turned on or impressed with your photo, she's lying. She probably doesn't want to see it and is saying that crap to spare your feelings.
