A Chapter Closed
My good friend Aric Hamilton passed away last week. There was no funeral service but his mother had all of his friends over yesterday to party and celebrate his life. It was a good time and we all told stories of our friend from the days of his prime before he fell into his dark period.
Tonight his friend Rocky who is the owner of a bar in town called the "7440" invited people to come out and party and tell stories. Aric also worked at this bar years ago and did most of the artwork and logos on the walls of the 7440. We popped on a DVD I made showcasing our old band that he was in during his prime and played it on the big screen and over the sound system.
A few people did Karaoke songs that he used to do and we sang along and cheered and smiled.
I had to leave early unfortunately because I have to work early.
As I said my goodbyes while exiting the bar, I turned around in front of the entrance and looked back at all the people that were there to honor him. I relished that moment in realization that this motley crew of people will probably never be in the same room together again. I smiled and walked out the door.
Good bye my friend. You gave me so much.
