I have cancelled my subscription to this site. It ends sometime in January.
Technically, it has nothing and everything to do with the proposed changes. I actually have no problem with the new website. While I personally am not a fan of the "Mobile" look, the actual look of the website matters not to me. What mattered to me is the community SG has provided for me. Almost a family. A perverted family with more nudity than my blood family, but still a family. After some of the responses and answers I saw, I came to the conclusion that the SG staff had that in mind and with work, we could still have an amazing community.
One friend called, specifically the way they announced and presented the changes, a clusterfuck. As a customer service person, the first rule is to present everything in a positive light. "At least with one less leg you'll weigh less on the scale!" "We're shutting down the site" is not the first words you should utter; its a very negative opening. And then many of the responses back were... negatively sarcastic. Not good PR, but whatever. Also, releasing an alpha website is definitely risky.
But they zotted my friend. My concern was about community, and they removed part of the community. Now, I get that "Clusterfuck" isn't necessarily a great response, but we are on a website that highlights naked women with tattoos. Still, many of my friends tried to keep it civil.
Than they zotted more. They made one friends account expire well before it was scheduled. They zotted other friends as well. While some were very reactionary, most were giving constructive feedback. The feedback might be summed up as "you royally fucked up with the presentation," but it wasn't that. It was constructive. But they are zotted, they have early-expired accounts, some IP banned.
My chief interest in staying with SG was the community. My chief concern with the new website is to make sure the groups would still harbor the community that the Silliness and other boards harbor. I felt the website could do that. But then my friends got ban hammers. They got zotted. They got early expired accounts. The community has been destroyed, not directly because of the new site, but as an aftermath.
So, I've had a lot of fun. I've enjoyed getting to know a lot of you. I'll still be here, infrequently, until January. We'll see what happens between now and then... but right now I'm pretty hurt that much of the community I loved has been removed.

Two months late is better than two months pregnant, right? It looks like I missed quite a bit.
