Got a response about the China trip. From a monetary standpoint, I don't think it will work. They would be paying me less to do more, and I am barely holding on by my fingertips as things stand now.
Which leads me to option 2. I need to get some more information, but I may attempt to get another degree, which would allow me to have a better chance in the Academic career. Not a doctorate, but an MFA, which is a terminal degree. With that, I could finally (maybe) get a job teaching fiction writing, what I would love to do, as opposed to general composition, which I am really starting to hate.
I just need to find out if, being an employee of the University system, I would be able to get a tuition waiver.
