I had a very odd experience at work this afternoon. I was just about to close when this couple came in. He looked like a pretty standard edition hipster, and she looked a bit suicide girly (punky hair, many tattoos, kind smile). We all talked for a bit, and they were very very nice. They just moved to Omaha, but he was from Kearney and was visiting for the weekend.
Anyway, what was odd was two things. First, she had a tattoo that almost matched one of mine, in both place and outline. Hers was a long, very well colored feather. Mine is a quill pen. Both on the right upper arm. I mentioned it, showed her mine, we both liked each others. Then, on her way out, she stopped at our display Buddha Board (a small slab of stone that you can draw on with water). She drew a design on it . . . and it was identical to a symbol that I made up in High School and still plan to tattoo on me at some point. The only difference was, she drew it sideways.
It was strange. Here was this little waif of a girl, and it is like all these coincidences happening at once.
